Day 4
After meeting up with the group at the airport, you will head to Arches National Park for a sunset hike and picnic dinner. Afterwards you will settle into your room for the week.
The day starts with an early morning departure to Canyonlands National Park where you will hike Mesa Arch and the Canyon Overlook trails. Experience the sheer vastness of the Islands in the Sky district of Canyonlands. Following lunch you will head back to Arches to hike the famous Delicate Arch, the largest free-standing arch in the park and an iconic image that is recognized worldwide.
Today we leave Utah (just temporarily!) and visit Mesa Verde National Park in Colorado. Mesa Verde is graced with both natural beauty and also fascinating archeological sites. You will get to combine hiking with a tour that highlights the culture and history of the Ancestral Pueblos. End off your day with a tranquil and refreshing float down the Colorado river.
Wednesday's highlight will be the famous Monument Valley... but first, stop to hike Wilson's Arch as you drive southward! Then onward to Monument Valley, a famous region at the Utah/Arizona border known for the sandstone buttes that jut upward from the valley floor. We will take a 17 mile jeep tour of the region, with opportunities to get out and explore, as well as a guided tour of the Navajo Nation tribal park.
Day 5
The final day of our trip explodes with a bang. Moab is known as the jeeping capitol of the world, and you will get to learn why. We will take a breath- holding, seat-gripping ride through Hell's Revenge, where of course safety will be prioritized... along with rugged adventure! Then it's time to begin the journey back to Salt Lake City for a delicious hot meal before heading to the airport.
